Trivia: This is the first project we recorded ourselves. With the help of Jeff Kerr from the Gloryland Quartet of Ashland, Ohio, this album, along with all of the others to follow (except the “Live” Album) were actually recorded in Mike’s basement. The advancement of home recording technology allowed us to spend the eight hours each way we had previously spent traveling to Crusade Studios in Flora Illinois on recording rather than driving. We believe that our quality improved dramatically, especially as we gained more experience over the next few projects. Jeff always came up to engineer our recordings and Mike always went down to Ashland to help the Glorylands when they recorded. This relationship caused Jeff & Mike as well as the two quartets to become very close.

This was also the first project where we did not produce an LP record. The custom of the day was to simply take the album cover (square format) for the record and put it on the cassette insert (rectangular format). Notice that we maintained that practice for three more projects before realizing that we could design a cover specifically for a cassette, which we first did in 1989 on “Special Delivery”.
